Laura Romano,CEO
Laura Romano is responsible for the overall strategic direction of Maersk's New York office, including North American business development, global customer relationship management, and the development of intercontinental supply chain projects. With over 17 years of experience in international trade and global logistics, she excels at developing robust and forward-thinking strategic plans in volatile market environments.
Under her leadership, the New York office has implemented several core reforms, including digital upgrades, increased supply chain transparency, and sustainable shipping initiatives, making regional operations more resilient and efficient. Laura is committed to making New York a key hub in Maersk's global strategic network, providing customers with smarter, more reliable, and more efficient end-to-end logistics solutions.
Charles van der Steene, RP
Charles van der Steene is the Regional President for North America at A.P. Moller – Maersk, responsible for overseeing the company’s regional strategy, commercial performance, and operational execution across the North American market. He works closely with global and regional leadership teams to drive growth, strengthen customer relationships, and advance integrated logistics solutions while supporting long-term, sustainable development across the region.
With deep experience in international logistics and large-scale operations, Charles focuses on aligning regional priorities with Maersk’s global strategy, enhancing customer value, and building resilient, future-ready supply chains throughout North America.
Rabab Boulos, COO
Rabab Boulos is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of A.P. Moller – Maersk, responsible for the Group's global operational strategy and execution. She has been based in the New York office multiple times, collaborating with the North American team to advance key projects focused on operational excellence, cross-regional synergy, and sustainability.
Rabab has over two decades of internal management experience at Maersk, having held key leadership roles in various countries and business segments. Her pragmatic, forward-thinking, and people-oriented leadership style continuously drives the resilience, efficiency, and long-term value growth of Maersk's operations
Robert Erni, CFO
Robert Erni is the Chief Financial Officer of Maersk’s New York office, responsible for financial strategy, governance, and performance management across the regional business. He partners closely with senior leadership to support strategic decision-making, ensure strong financial discipline, and enable sustainable growth in a dynamic and evolving market environment.
Robert brings a strong analytical perspective and a long-term mindset to advancing operational transparency and financial resilience. He plays a key role in strengthening financial controls, enhancing reporting and forecasting capabilities, and supporting cross-functional collaboration, ensuring that financial priorities remain aligned with operational excellence and the broader strategic objectives of the business.
Caroline Pontoppidan,CLO
Caroline Pontoppidan is the Chief Legal Officer and Chief Corporate Affairs Officer of A.P. Moller – Maersk, responsible for the company’s global legal, compliance, governance, and corporate affairs functions. She leads Maersk’s legal strategy across jurisdictions and works closely with executive leadership to support strategic decision-making, manage legal and reputational risk, and ensure strong governance and ethical business practices across global operations.
With extensive experience in international law and corporate governance, she plays a key role in guiding Maersk through complex regulatory environments while supporting long-term, sustainable value creation.
Emily Parker, EA
Emily Parker is the Executive Assistant to Laura Romano, CEO of the Maersk New York office. She provides high-level executive support, including calendar and priority management, cross-functional coordination, and day-to-day liaison with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Working closely with senior leadership, Emily helps ensure smooth operational flow, timely communication, and effective execution of executive priorities. Known for her discretion, attention to detail, and organizational strength, she plays an essential role in supporting leadership effectiveness and overall office efficiency.
